Don VandeVanter

After a long and enjoyable career as a Certified Public Accountant and the Chief Financial Officer of a leading agricultural financial institution in Texas, Don VandeVanter wanted a career where he could more directly help individuals and families with their personal financial planning and decisions. After successfully completing the educational requirements and passing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ examination, Don is a candidate for the CFP® certification. He's grateful for the opportunity Christian Financial Advisors has given him to help people in a valuable and meaningful way. Don brings over 35 years of financial services and public accounting experience to his role. As Chief Financial Officer, he helped guide the institution through growth from $500 million to over $9 billion — an average annual growth rate of 17 percent — while returning more than $1 billion of earnings in cash back to its members through its cooperative structure. He's also experienced in raising capital through the public equities market, successfully issuing $200 million in preferred stock for the institution, one of the first Farm Credit associations to do so. Don has helped guide people financially on a personal level, too. His years in public accounting gave him deep experience in tax planning and preparation at both the individual and business level. He has also led many Bible studies on personal finance and loves learning how God's Word applies to every area of life. He brings his combined 37 years of financial services and public accounting experience to serve his clients and the team.

• Married to his wife, Kelli, for over 35 years — they have two sons, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and two granddaughters.
• Enjoys golf, hiking, and spending time with his family.
